OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER PRESS CONFERENCE

>OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER PRESS CONFERENCE EARLIER TODAY Good morning. What's the situation regarding Ashley Young? Ole “He's one of our players, he's our captain. There's loads of speculation and we've just got to handle that. We're getting used to that in this club and Ashley's been very professional and focused, so I don't think that's going to change.” *Is he going to be a Manchester United player after January or is he going to go to Inter Milan now?* Ole“Well, that's a discussion that me and Ash will have if something comes up and for us we haven't got too many players fit and ready, so we need the ones we have.” I DON'T *Clearly his leadership skills, his versatility, his experience are things you wouldn't want to lose?* Ole “No, Ashley's been very, very good for this club and he's been a very good captain this season, so let's see where we are in June and, well, we can see where we are in February as well.” *When things weren't going so right for Sir Alex, there was kind of a siege mentality. With injuries and results, is there a feeling of us against the world that you can draw on?* Ole “Well it's not us against the world, it's us against Norwich now, so that's the focus. We've just got to go game to game and improve and get results in the league. We've had Carabao Cup games, FA Cup games, and they will be coming up as well, so different competitions and now we're just ready and focused to play Norwich.” *Ole, what's the situation with Harry Maguire and how extensive is his hip problem?* Ole “He's got a chance for tomorrow. It was a minor thing. Where the reports are coming from, you might have mistaken it for Harry Kane. He's got a chance. He's going to go through training today and see how he reacts for tomorrow.” *Is that a surprise?* Ole “No, it's not a surprise, because he is a warrior and he wants to play, and if there's a minor problem he'll put himself up to play and that's what he did against Wolverhampton. At half time he was feeling some discomfort, but he was adamant he was going to be fine and he was close to playing against City, just not fit enough, but a better chance now.” *Can I just ask you about the transfer situation, in particular Bruno Fernandes, because a lot of people are talking about him. There's a suggestion that you went to see him play last weekend?* Ole “We go back to speculations and we do go to watch games all the time, but where I've been and when I've been somewhere is irrelevant and that's another player that's in a different club and I can't speak about.” *Ole, how big a problem has morale been this week after what happened against City?* Ole “Of course you're disappointed when you lose a game against your local rivals, but which way is there to go? Do you feel sorry for yourself or do you just buckle down, or knuckle down, and get ready for the next one. One of the worst traits a footballer can have is feeling sorry for himself, and you're not in the right place, so the boys have been focused. Yeah, it's been a disappointing feeling, because we know that game wasn't the game we wanted, but that's football and I'm sure we'll get a reaction tomorrow.” *The fans will think bottom-of-the-table Norwich is a perfect opportunity. How do you see it?* Ole “Every game is a perfect opportunity. If City were here again in the league after the Carabao Cup you'd say that is a perfect opportunity. It's the next game and you play for Man United. You play in front of the best fans in the world. What is there not to like about that situation?” *we're 10 days into the transfer window. Are you any closer to adding some bodies?* Ole “Well we've still got the same thoughts as we had a month ago. We've got the players we have, we're working with the ones we have and if something happens we'll tell you.” *Do you think anyone will leave in this window?* Ole “I can't say yes or no, but I wouldn't expect many ins and outs, no.” *What about injuries for the weekend, and Scott McTominay, what's the prognosis on him?* Ole “Scott's going to be out for a while, for sure. We've got Eric and Tim, they're playing tonight in the reserves, which is a great step forward for them, and hopefully they'll get through that to then be available for us again. They've been training well for a month now, so let's see how they are tonight.” *Do you know how long Scott might be out for?* Ole “Well we won't see him before the winter break anyway, so we'll see him hopefully in February.” *END OF OLE PRESS CONFERENCE*
