Cristiano Ronaldo just clocked 35 the other day.We deemed it right to address the number one question asked by all football fans ;Messi or Ronaldo who is the greatest of all time?This year Ronaldo made history by becoming the first player ever to score a hattrick in Serie A ,La Liga,The Premier League and FIFA World Cup.This feat was achieved when Juventus beat Cagliari 4-0 at the Allianz Stadium.He also became the first Juventus player in history to score in 10 straight Serie A matches.He has generated 944 goals in 996 games.Does these make him the best player of all time?Messi also has alot of achievements like 5 baloon d'ors and he also became the first player to win 500 matches this year when Barcelona beat Leganes.Cristiano Ronaldo has played 145 games more than Leo Messi in his entire career and has only scored only 31 goals more than the Argentinian.Messi has given 70 assists more than Cristiano Ronaldo in his entire career,making a total of 983 goals generated in 851 games(1.16 goals generated per game).In his entire career,Leo Messi has generated 39 goals more than Cristiano Ronaldo,despite having played 145 matches less.Messi has not had luck in his international football over the years,but because we are comparing the two individuals we can only base their performance individually not as a team. Ronaldo,a Portugeese has 164 games ,99 goals and 30 assists an average of 0.60 while Leo has 138 games,70 goals,42 assists and an average of 0.51.If we calculate the average FIFA Ranking of the teams Messi has faced is 35 while the average FIFA Ranking of the teams Ronaldo has faced is 52.In friendly games the average FIFA Ranking of the teams Messi has faced is 38 while for Ronaldo it is 53.In official games ,the average FIFA Ranking of the teams Messi has faced is 34 while for Ronaldo it is 52.Messi plays most of his matches against teams from the first 75 places of the FIFA Ranking and very few games against lower level opponents. Cristiano Ronaldo also plays most of his matches against teams from TOP 75 ,but he plays a considerable number of games against lower rank teams.Does Ronaldo have more goals than Messi because of this?At club level it may be wrong to compare Ronaldo to Messi because Messi has only been in one club all his career.Messi and Ronaldo are very different personalities ,Leo plays as a playmaker and as a striker ,while CR7 plays mostly as a striker.They also are of very different stature .Would Messi have more goals if he had a bigger stature?The decision always lies with the fan because some may choose the best according to emotion maybe because he plays for their club ,philosophy or even their work ethic .They truly are all good players but the decision lies with the fan.I would choose Messi.

UEFA has banned Manchester City from participating in the Champions League and all its competitions for 2 years over financial fair play issues.The club believes the investigation was flawed and UEFA were out to get them from the start by acting as judge,jury and executioner.Man City can appeal the decision to Court of Arbitration of Sports (which has power to confirm the ban,reduce the penalties or send it back to CFCB) or go to the courts in Switzerland.The Swiss Supreme Court has the power to confirm or alter the ban. LIVERPOOL OUT OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!

After being beaten by Atletico Madrid 1-0 away and at home 3-2,Liverpool were knocked out of Champions league in the round of 16. The European Champions hopes of defending their title was ended because they lost 3-2 to Atletico Madrid which was an aggregate of 4:2.Atletico Madrid played quite defensively and relied mostly on counter attacks. Jurgen Klopp said this about the game,"I am completely happy with the perfomance.It is so difficult to play a side like this."Klopp added he was "searching for the right words." I don't understand with the quality they have the football they play.They could play proper football but they stand deep and play counter attacks.We accept it,of course ,but it doesn't feel right tonight.I realise am really a bad loser,especially when the boys put such an effort against such world class players on the other side who defend in two rows of four.We know in the past two years we have had some lucky moments in the Champions League-you

Man City just won their 3rd straight Carabao Cup title (7th overall) after winning 2-1 against Aston Villa .At the beginning of the season they still won the Community Shield ,although some would argue these are less prestigious Cups they show that he takes all trophies seriously.Pep was a creative and gifted midfielder who usually played in a play making role as a defensive midfielder.
