ARSENAL MANAGER ARTETA TESTS POSITIVE FOR CORONA VIRUS!!!LATEST NEWS.

Following Arsenal's announcement on Thursday night,the Premier League has confirmed that it will convene an emergency meeting with top flight clubs on Friday morning regarding its fixtures.Arsenal were to face Manchester City on Wednesday but the fixture was postponed because Arsenal players had contact with Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marikanis who had tested positive for the Corona Virus.The players who had close contact with Marikanis were advised to self isolate themselves at home for 14 days.The Premier League had this to say in their statement,"In light of Arsenal's announcement tonight confirming that their first team coach Mikel Arteta has tested positive for COVID-19,the Premier League will convene an emergency club meeting tomorrow morning regarding fixtures." The Premier League will not comment further on the matter until the meeting is held.Arsenal's managing director Vinai Venkatesham said: "The health of our people and the wider public is our priority and that is where our focus is.Our thoughts are with Mikel who is dissapointed but in good spirits.We are in active dialogue with all the relevant people to manage this situation appropriately, and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows."Arsenal head of football,Raul Sanllehi added:" Mikel and the full first team squad ,players and staff,will be fully supported,and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as medical advice allows.Obviously Mikel's full recovery is the priority now for us all.We will work with the Public health England on the next steps in regard to our facilities and staff,and with the Premier League,Football Association and all relevant clubs around our forthcoming fixtures in the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup.It is clear that we will not be able to play some fixtures on their currently scheduled dates.We will update supporters who have tickets for forthcoming games with more information as soon as possible.We are now working to trace any other people who have had close contact with Mikel. We will let them know want has happened and they should follow the NHS guidance which is likely to recommend self-isolation."Reports have also come in that Hudson Odoi ,player of their London rivals Chelsea has contracted the virus .Premier League has been postponed till 3rd April.
