Barcelona's Super Cup Hopes CUT OFF!

Barcelona will not feature in the Spanish Supercup 2020 Final on Sunday.Unfortunately there will be no El Classico in Saudi Arabia.This is after Barcelona lost to Atletico Madrid 3:2.In an amazing turn of events in the dying moments of the game Atletico came from behind to grab the victory from the Blaugrana. Koke gave Atletico the lead at the start of the second half but Leo Messi responded with an equaliser only five minutes after the opener.Messi scored another goal at the 59th minute but the goal was disallowed for handball after the VAR monitor was checked.However,the Blaugrana refused to give in,and two minutes later it was 2:1 after Antoine Griezmann headed home from a close range effort.Barcelona were denied another goal at the 73rd minute after Gerard Pique scored from close range,but the effort was disallowed by VAR due to an offside in the build-up.Atletico equalised at the 81st minute when Vitolo was brought down by Neto(the Barca keeper),which led to Alvaro Morata converting from the penalty spot. The comeback was complete when Angel Correa scored the last goal just four minutes remaining,Neto the Barca stopper got a hand to the ball but it kept moving.Almost in slow motion the ball made it across the goal line.Ernesto Valverde and his men will be flying home while Atletico will prepare to face Madrid neighbours Real in the final.

UEFA has banned Manchester City from participating in the Champions League and all its competitions for 2 years over financial fair play issues.The club believes the investigation was flawed and UEFA were out to get them from the start by acting as judge,jury and executioner.Man City can appeal the decision to Court of Arbitration of Sports (which has power to confirm the ban,reduce the penalties or send it back to CFCB) or go to the courts in Switzerland.The Swiss Supreme Court has the power to confirm or alter the ban. We are yet to know their next move but this decision will obviously affect other clubs .Clubs that have been investigated over financial fair play issues such as Paris Saint Germain may have their cases reopened. LIVERPOOL OUT OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!

After being beaten by Atletico Madrid 1-0 away and at home 3-2,Liverpool were knocked out of Champions league in the round of 16. The European Champions hopes of defending their title was ended because they lost 3-2 to Atletico Madrid which was an aggregate of 4:2.Atletico Madrid played quite defensively and relied mostly on counter attacks. Jurgen Klopp said this about the game,"I am completely happy with the perfomance.It is so difficult to play a side like this."Klopp added he was "searching for the right words." I don't understand with the quality they have the football they play.They could play proper football but they stand deep and play counter attacks.We accept it,of course ,but it doesn't feel right tonight.I realise am really a bad loser,especially when the boys put such an effort against such world class players on the other side who defend in two rows of four.We know in the past two years we have had some lucky moments in the Champions League-you

Man City just won their 3rd straight Carabao Cup title (7th overall) after winning 2-1 against Aston Villa .At the beginning of the season they still won the Community Shield ,although some would argue these are less prestigious Cups they show that he takes all trophies seriously.Pep was a creative and gifted midfielder who usually played in a play making role as a defensive midfielder.
